VILLAGE GREEN BYELAWS

The following are the main points from the Borough Byelaws which apply to the Village Green. The full Byelaws can be seen with appointment with the Council. In this notice "Green" comprises both the grass and adjacent track ways and "Council" the Parish or Borough as appropriate.

GENERAL

USERS SHALL TAKE CARE OF THE EQUIPMENT AND OF THE PLANT AND ANIMAL WILDLIFE ON THE GREEN. THEY WILL RESPECT THE REASONABLE RIGHTS OF OTHERS TO ENJOY THE GREEN IN PEACE.

Vehicles

No wheeled vehicle other than an invalid carriage, pram, wheelchair, child's cycle or mower shall be driven or ridden on the grass. No vehicle shall be parked overnight.

Horses and other animals

No horse, pony, mule, donkey or ass shall be brought onto, or ridden on, the grass and no animals shall be put out to graze.

Camping, fires, barbeques and fireworks

Neither camping nor the overnight parking of caravans is allowed. No fires shall be lit or fireworks discharged without the Council's prior agreement.

Play area and games

The play area is for people under the age of 14. no games shall be played on the Green which would give other people reasonable grounds for annoyance and prejudice their safety.

Noise

Noise which disturbs others, including shouting, singing or operating sound equipment or musical instruments is not allowed.

Trading

No form of trading shall take place without the Council's prior agreement.

Outdoor furniture, performances and exhibitions

No performance, exhibition or other public event shall be arranged or structures or furniture erected, without the Council's prior agreement.

Metal detectors

These are not allowed on the Green.

Litter

All users should take their litter home or use the bins provided.

Dogs

Dogs are not allowed within the fenced area surrounding the play equipment at any time. They must be kept under control in other parts of the Green and any droppings picked up and placed in the bin provided.
