My name is Margaret Morton and I am searching for the family of James
Carmichael, born about 1887 in Scotland. He was in Rangoon, Burma in the
late 1920s and early 1930s. Also for the family of Henry Morton born about
1870, who went out to Rangoon Burma around 1890, then married Anne Savage,
two children Barbara and Dudley. Also for the family of Savage who's
descendent went to Rangoon, Burma in the second half of the 19th Century
(1850- 1900). I would also like to get in touch with the Peter Savage on
this Website.

My name is Peter Savage and I'm in the process of tracing my family tree. At present I am back with an unbroken line to a marriage between Richard Savage and Elizabeth Cowper in 1727, and which took place in West Farleigh. There were several Savage marriages after that date in your village, and also earlier. One Richard Savage married Ellen Hodges in 1685 at West Farleigh AND at Luddesdown on the same day! The family seemed to triangulate between West Farleigh, Luddesdown, and Cobham/Sole Street over a period of a century, maybe longer.
I guess that the answers to any questions that I may have will be in the parish records, presumably at Maidstone - which is indeed a place where I'll spend some time in 2003 (not the prison!), however, if there is a fund of local knowledge that would readily and easily throw some light on Richard Savage, and his wife Elizabeth, then I would very much like to hear of it
