From Martyn Philpott, Hello, I
probably have some answers to the West Farleigh Philpotts as I have info on
about 150 Philpotts in the West Farleigh area. But can people help me with two
Philpotts from West Farleigh who played cricket for Australia in 1850s and 60s,
why were they there? Also can anyone help me with information on the large,
but seemingly secret, mill at Tutsham. In the past it was said it was called
Startup and Philpotts Mill. It burned down in 1885.

who married into the Startup family (Herbert Walter Startup. born 1865, married
to Catherine Olga Damyon, born 1857. Mary Startup married to John Philpott - no

A request from David Tollman
I am trying to trace the Philpott family from West Farleigh. James Philpott was
born in West Farleigh in about 1811 and married Sarah ??? from Rochester. Their
first daughter Elisa was born in West Farleigh in about 1840 then their other
children were born in Sutton Valance. Any info especially the surname of Sarah
