Hello, I wonder if anybody has any information relating to the MILLS
family, living and working in East and West Farleigh in the 18th and 19th
centuries. Particularly in relation to William Mills, my closest relation
whom I believe to be my Great, Great, Grandfather - born circa 1858,
probably in Dean Street. His father was David Mills, born 1815 in East
Farleigh and his wife Anne, also 1815, was born in West Farleigh.
David's brother, George, of Yalding, lived with the couple in their
later years after the children had moved on. David and Anne's children,
all born in East Farleigh were Ruth, Charles, Harriett, Richard, John,
Susannah and William (Richard was born in Barming parish). They lived at
times in I believe Gallants Lane, Bidews, Bydews Farm, Dean Street and The
Green, East Farleigh. I understand they were but lowly agricultural
workers but I am interested in how they lived, what life was like for them
etc. I would be very interested to hear any connections to the family or
stories. Many thanks. Contact me here:-
